This extremely short woolled brown sheepskin rug is made from three similar rugs sewn together, creating a truly one off rug that would look great in a large room or over a sofa. It reminds us of a cowhide, such is the fleece length and texture.

Texture wise, it is quite unusual, as it has been roughly shorn very short, creating a distinctive, textured effect. The wool is reasonably soft, though the texture is firmer than a typical sheepskin because the longer, fluffy fleece has been removed. The very short woolled fleece is almost like felt or fleece jacket material it is that short and woolly.

Colour wise, our photos show a bright tan colour as they were taken under natural lighting, but the colour is a lot more muted and flat under artificial indoor light, like in the last photo on the wooden floor. It has cream patches around the edges

The UK has more sheep breeds than any other country - over 60 and counting - and many more cross breeds. This breed is likely from a Badger Face Welsh Mountain due to the distinctive white edges.

Like all our rugs, it has been tanned in the UK and hand finished in our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.
